What do you want?

We all want love.  One way of bringing more love into your life is to let God, the source of Perfect Love, into your heart and to let Him garden.  He creates a Garden of Love.  (Love is complex- difficult to describe, so His garden is made up of many diverse plants and places.

God knows we all need love.  It’s like the spiritual blood of Life.  God also understands the Way this world works –physically and spiritually.  So, is His Goodness, He commands us to love.  He knows in order to get what we want and need (love) we must first sow it.  “You reap what you sow” is one of His ways.  You can see it in the natural world- if we want a zinnia we must sow a zinnia seed.  How amazing!  To get something , we must first give it!  This is definitely not man’s way.  We just want to be given what we want with no effort.  God’s Way says we must sow it.

Usually, we have love to sow from our parents and friends who gave us love.  Sometimes our supply of love is small- just enough for us to use- so we must receive love from God first in order to have seeds of love to sow and give to others.  God will put these seeds into our heart as we commune with Him- reading His word and learning His Ways, praying  for help, and giving thanksgiving for the blessings we have been given.

  When you give your heart to God, , you give God your intentions, your desires, ( your heart ) and allow God  to have His Way with your heart - to grow His Garden of Love.  You do this because you want to.  You give Him your intention, your will ( your heart)  to obey His Ways (giving up your ways).  Why give your will or intention to God?  Because only  His Ways are perfect.  He is perfectly  just, all knowing- full of Wisdom.  He is  powerful  with  the  strength of Truth .  His ways  protect  you (they are always right) .  He is  your shelter from the evils in this world.  He is the  Creator –we,  humans did not make ourselves-  we do not understand  exactly how our body, mind  and spirit  work.  People cannot reproduce what God has made (-look at the experiment with Biosphere where we tried to be self sufficient in a bubble….disaster- we cannot reproduce this life that we have, the life God has perfectly made).

  So, we must trust God’s  Spirit of Love, a Way of Being, not a physical being,  to grow a  beautiful and useful  garden  in your heart.   God grows a garden of Perfect  Love.  (Not being human,  His Spirit is not entangled in the weeds of this world.  His Love does not expect anything in return!  It is free to all.)   We are free to choose- this freedom is a gift from God.  We  can either  give our hearts  to the ways of  God or we  can give our hearts  to the  ways of this world.  God’s ways are spiritual ways of being which bring hope, joy, love and peace.  The ways of the world bring trouble…
