Paula Silva is co-founder and president of FOCUS Ministries, Inc., the National Support Group Director for FOCUS Ministries, Inc., and the director of FOCUS Women’s Center in Wood Dale, Illinois.

She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), co-host of “Restoring the Hope” conferences for women held in Illinois and Kentucky, workshop leader of “Train the Trainer”, and serves on the Faith Based Advisory Committee for Mayor Daley’s Office of Domestic Violence. She has coauthored the book, Violence Among Us: Ministry to Families in Crisis and the article, Domestic Violence Among Believers, in the 2005 Vol. 13 No. 3 issue of Christian Counseling Today Magazine.

Pat Burke is a part-time instructor at the University of Connecticut, Hartford Campus, teaching life-span development, family studies, and gender courses in the Human Development and Family Studies Department. In addition, she has designed numerous training programs in the corporate world and for churches in Connecticut. Her special interest is women’s psychological development, and she has served as a facilitator for support groups, conducted workshops, and counseled individuals who are experiencing major life crises, including domestic abuse. For the past two years, she has served in an administrative role with the PASCH organization.
