A Biblical Exhortation To Make a Safety Plan

A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. –Proverbs 22:3

The RAVE Project: Religion and Violence e-Learning

RAVE is an initiative that seeks to bring knowledge and social action together to assist families of faith impacted by abuse.

The RAVE mission statement is as follows:

“There is no place like home;
when abuse strikes, there is no home.”

  • RAVE seeks to enable religious leaders to respond to domestic violence in ways that are compassionate, practical and informed by the latest research and best practices for professionals;
  • RAVE seeks to enable religious leaders to respond to domestic violence in ways that are compassionate, practical and informed by the latest research and best practices for professionals;
  • RAVE seeks to walk alongside victims and survivors on their journeys toward healing and wholeness;
  • RAVE seeks to forge pathways between the Steeple and the Shelter;
  • RAVE seeks to hold abusers accountable for their actions, while offering hope for a transformed life.”

To accomplish this mission RAVE delivers training and resources, immediate help and referrals, as well as best practices (and pitfalls to avoid) to religious leaders and congregations through web-based sources accessed in clergy offices, internet cafes, seminary classrooms and churches around the world.
